Petals repurposed

From discarded devotion to woven poetry

It all started at my best friend’s wedding.

As I watched her exchange varmalas, I couldn’t stop thinking about how quickly such an important symbol of the day would fade away.

I wanted to gift her something meaningful. Not something that would sit on a shelf. Not something that would eventually be forgotten.

So I took her wedding varmala and asked myself a simple question:

What if memories could be worn?

The answer didn’t come easily.

For weeks, I experimented with her flowers, failing eight or nine times before finally creating a fabric that could be transformed into an outfit.

When I gifted it to her, she was emotional and completely stunned. The flowers from one of the most important days of her life had become something she could wear forever and one day pass on to her children.

That moment became Thread to Tales.

Today, we preserve wedding varmalas, bouquets, farewell flowers and milestone blooms by transforming them into wearable heirlooms.

One of our most memorable projects came from the wife of a retiring army officer. She entrusted us with the flowers from his farewell ceremony, which we transformed into a saree she later wore to the farewell party.

Moments pass.

Stories don’t.

That’s why we do what we do.

The name Thread to Tales comes from a simple idea.

A thread is what holds a varmala together. Without it, they’re just flowers.

That same thread helps create a garment.

We begin with flowers, transform them into fabric, and create pieces that carry stories worth telling.

Because we’re not preserving flowers.

We’re preserving memories you can wear.

What We Preserve

  • Wedding Varmalas
  • Bridal Bouquets
  • Reception Flowers
  • Farewell Flowers

  • Proposal Bouquets

A Letter from Bhumi

Hi,
If you’ve found your way here, chances are you’re holding onto flowers that mean something to you.
Maybe they’re from your wedding day.
Maybe they’re from a farewell, an anniversary, a proposal, or a moment you never want to forget.
I know exactly how that feels.
A few years ago, I was standing at my best friend’s wedding, watching her exchange varmalas, completely unaware that those flowers would change the course of my life.
What started as an attempt to create a meaningful gift became a question that stayed with me: Why do some of life’s most precious memories only last a few days?
That question led to countless experiments, failures, late nights, and eventually the creation of the very first outfit made from preserved flowers.
Today, every time someone trusts us with their flowers, I never see them as flowers.
I see the nervous bride who waited months for her wedding day.
I see the parents who are watching their daughter begin a new chapter.
I see the wife preserving flowers from her husband’s army farewell.
I see stories.
And I believe those stories deserve more than a few days.
They deserve to be carried forward.
So when you send us your flowers, you’re not just sending petals and stems.
You’re sending us a piece of your life.
And that responsibility is something I will never take lightly.
Thank you for trusting Thread to Tales with your memories.
With love,
Bhumi

Answers to your blooming curiosities.

About the Process :

We carefully preserve the flowers from your wedding varmala and transform them into a wearable outfit such as a saree, dupatta, kurta, stole, or just a fabric.

Once we receive your varmala, the flowers undergo a preservation process to retain their beauty and sentimental value. The preserved flowers are then incorporated into a fabric of choice and then we contract your outfits from it.

Most flowers can be preserved. However, the final appearance depends on the flower type, freshness, and condition when received.
